Complete Trait Index

audio

An effect trait that indicates how loud an item is under its normal operation. This is most commonly applied to weapons and conjugates.

Eg. audio=350

burst

A ranged weapon trait representing a rapid fire setting, this usually set to values of 3, 4 or 5, being the number of rounds fired in a burst.

Eg burst=4

CC

Complexity Challenge is an availability trait referring to the challenge associated with the complexity or sophistication of an artefact. More information here: CC.

CC(Q)

Complexity Challenge (Quality) is an availability trait referring to the challenge associated with a quality-impoved artefact. More information here: CC.

CC(S)

Complexity Challenge (Security) is an availability trait referring to the challenge associated with security-improved artefact. More information here: CC.

cone

An area effect trait that indicates an effect in a volume shaped like a cone. This is normally in front of the creature causing the effect and the cone is broad, going out at 45° to the left, to the right, up and down. The number indicates the distance the cone extends to the point where the effect ends in practice.

Eg cone=12

cost

An availability trait, with two numbers:

  • the first representing the price/complexity of an item in Cr (credits), numbers can be suffixed with K, M and G;
  • the second is the rarity or restriction on access of an item.

Eg cost=1K|1

dmg(x)

This is a conditional trait with one or two dimensions, it is used to describe the amount of potential damage that can be done to a creature or item. The dimensions are there to describe the type of damage. For example dmg(hp,frc)=1d6 indicates that 1d6 force (frc) health point (hp) damage is potentially deliverable. dmg(ep)=7 and dmg(fp)=1d3 have similar effects but refer to energy point (ep) and focus point (fp) damage, respectively, and these are both dimensionless.

fld(x)

This is a conditional trait with at least one dimension that represents the strength of a field, normally in physical terms. An electrical field for example, could be represented with fld(elec)=5, meaning an electrical field of strength 5. Most of the time, a field of this nature will deliver dmg(hp,elec)=5 to any unprotected individual inside it. Another common field use is gravity, and fld(G)=0 is used to denote zero gravity or micro gravity.

implanted

An operational trait referring to the manner in which (usually) cyberware are incorporated into the user's body.

radius

An area effect trait that indicates the radius of spherical volume in which an effect occurs. An example is the combined expression: radius=7 : fld(elec)=5, meaning a 7-metre radius electrical field of strength 5.

recoil

A ranged weapon trait describing the severity of the reaction from firing. It comes in four steps being:

  • L for light
  • M for medium
  • H for heavy
  • KO for knock out

Eg. recoil=H

resequenced

An operational trait referring to the manner in which (usually) geneware are installed into a users body through resequencing their genome, resulting in some morpholocial (phenotypical) effect.

sniping

A ranged weapon usage trait meaning that the weapon can be used for sniping. This means that it can be aimed and fired while prone, and that the Sniper technique is useful.

wt

Refers to the weight of the artefact or creature. The number is assumed to be in kilograms, unless it is suffixed with a T, meaning tonnes. Very large objects may go to KT, MT and GT.

Eg. wt=3
