Scanlon-Glassop is a sector that is modest in its economic value, but extremely important influentially, as it is House Tinlau’s best access into the Technocratium.

Glassop

Glassop is an ancient mining colony established in 2714. As is typical of these colonies, a lot of the infrastructure, particularly, the power generation is equally old. In the last few hundred years, higgs reactors have augmented the fusion reactors, providing a source of hydrogen fuel to the same. Other than mining, Glassop acts as a waystation, providing refined matter at good rates.

Scanlon

Scanlon lies at the most extreme end of the red dwarf spectral type, and many consider it an early L-Type brown dwarf. Despite the youth of the system the heavy bombardment period of the system is largely over, and the remaining planetary system is extensive and metal-rich.

All of these factors make Scanlon an excellent target for mining, and certainly has the sector’s largest mining facilities, but also large in comparison to many others in the core sectors overall.

A lot of material is taken from Scanlon to the shipyards of Travis, making the Scanlon-Travis route one of the most heavily trafficked.

Travis

Travis is the main population centre for this sector, but it’s famous for three other things:

  1. its large ruined portal, orbiting at 4 AU distance from the star, amid a vast, smeared out trail of glittering wreckage.
  2. its rather advanced, pre-existing biosphere on Castor - the sixth planet
  3. the Travis shipyards

Castor is not only a cradle of pre-existing life, but the location of the main planet-side settlements in the system. The flora and fauna have been extensively studied, even while little regard for the sanctity of it has been shown by many of the residents.
