The Janus Sector is claimed and guarded by the Syndicratium, or more precisely, three giant corporations that work under the Syndicratium Market Regulators. All three of the corporations are large enough to be into every industry now, and see the other spaces (Jerrimoo and Nexus, particularly) as opportunities.
Janus
Janus is a close binary of a near brown dwarf (Janus A is, in fact, an extremely dim red dwarf) and a T-type brown dwarf in Janus B. The system has a reasonably extensive set of ice- covered terrestrial planets. The maturity of the system means that many of the terrestrials are geologically stable, and so habitats are created by boring out tunnels into these, and using the volatiles as life-support.
Prometheus
With its early M-type star, Prometheus is the brightest star of the sector. The star is quite mature, flares only occasionally and has good mass of planets despite the low metallicity of the system.
The largest planet, Fomeraux is a very small, hot Jovian circling very close to the star. There are 15 other planets, all of which are quite small and are carbon and silicon dominated.
