Riccichane-Levi Complex

The Riccichane-Levi Complex represents a collection of human colonies located in the Riccchane-Levi Spur some 7000 ly from the datum.

Its two main related polities are the Guild of Borland and the Pommeranz Council.

The Riccichane-Levi Spur

The Riccichane-Levi Spur is a thicket of stars on the core-tailward side of the Cygni Rift and 7000 lightyears from Sol. This makes Riccichane-Levi an extremely remote human settlement, lying well to the other side of even far ronite space.

Foundations

The complex is a product of the most distal leap-colonisation effort in human history, and instigated within the Cogitafactori Guild (also known as the Mens Machina) by 2720, probably amongst the Helgar Neti, and likely by the Golem of Neolod itself. It was theorised that a degeneracy feature from the Event existed that had its end in the Riccichane-Levi Spur. The Mens Machina were motivated to establish an interface of the Golem at this location, that became known simply as Spinward Golem.

Over the period from 2747, with the first colony ships, to 2785 with the last historically recogniseable expedition, 7 megastrikers made the 7000 lightyear journey, and established colonies surrounding Savigny (the location of the degeneracy terminus). Of the initial colonies, only Sassafrass lay outside a 100-lightyear radius, and of a set of colonies that are already considerably north of the galactic plane, it is 250 lightyears further to the north.

A peculiarity of this colonisation effort was its lack of ruling family involvement. While the Riccichane-Levi leap-colonisation of the Cogitafactori Guild may outwarly seem to share features in common with the Syndacratium movement, it differed from the latter in that it was mostly a frateral-guild effort. The Syndicratium could be viewed more as a merchant-guild effort. This difference fostered over centuries, a culture distinct from both the Monarchrate and the eventual Syndicratium.

The colonisation effort was also unusual in that the eventual culture, established over the years from 2960 to 2990, was only lightly affected by the Rift Wars: a factor only shared with the Hoseki Bako Complex.
