Blink Dog
Blink dogs are canine provolves (meaning animals that have in effect had their evolution shaped into sentience).
They differ from dogs:
- by being bipedal
- larger brain case size, so the heads have to be more bulgy
- furry hands, rather than paws
Also there are a lot of dog breeds that work great for pedigree prizes in pet shows, but would not work all that well as an ultra-bred mercenary fighter. For this reason favour alsations, (which are just evolved wolves), more standard hounds and not anything too over-bred.
They have the same digitigrade hind legs as dogs, but as they must stand upon them, they need to be more robust. Now the legs of blink dogs are not as long in comparison to their body as it is with mogs, but they are still longer overall than human legs.
The instep the bit above to toes and the ball of the foot, but below the heel needs to be quite long. On a dog the instep looks like its close to half the length of the leg
If you are intending to draw a female, remember that dogs have eight to ten nipples not two, so while they will have similar pectoral muscles to humans, female breasts don't bulge and there's more than two.
With the pictures, I have included here, I couldn't find anything that worked very well. AI, and most real artists don't seem to get it right all that much.
When drawing the hands, as with nearly all sophonts, remember that they need to be able to do fine work. I keep getting in my mind a one of these creatures painting a miniature. So if you can't see the hands painting a warhammer miniature, then they're not right. AI tends to draw paws, which, of course, would not work in reality.
Clothing
The tail, while not large, must be accommodated that in their clothing.
If the tail is uncovered, then they use something similar to shorts. When the tail is entirely covered, they have all sorts of arrangements. The tail does not reach the ground.
Also remember the digitigrade legs.
The head
It's important that there be enough room in the head for brains, so don't make the head too small. Blink dogs have amazing hearing and sense of smell. They are watchful and alert.
