Tactical Weapons
Field base{i}
The traditional definition of field weapons are those that are small enough to be moved around the battlefield (as opposed to weaponry that is installed at a base or fort). With the advent of large and powerful vehicles, the field weapon has come to mean a light tactical weapon (see next section). Field weapons normally operate at base {i}, At this base, all of damage, power consumption and matter consumption on all weapons are 10 times that at base {0}.
The following listings provide a sample of the more common field weapons in use in the four spaces.

Tactical base{ii}
Tactical weapons are those that are large enough to be installed in military bases, or on larger space ships. Tactical weapons normally operate at base{ii} or higher. At this base, all of damage, power consumption and matter consumption on all weapons are 100 times that at base {0}, or 10 times base{i}.
The following listings don’t constitute a complete run-down of all tactical weapons. There are too many for the core rulebook to list. This guide focuses on base{ii} tactical weapons, because these are the ones that you will likely encounter. However, it also provides 3 listings for the catapult, at bases {iii}, {iv} and {v}, for your reference.

Catapult
The catapult is also an antimatter weapon, but uses procession, between an exotic matter black hole and a base matter black hole chasing it, as the firing mechanism. The black hole pairs are generated in the procession engine, then chambered into, and ejected by, the striker rod apparatus, usually along the long axis.
On a striker, the catapult can be seen as funnels in the surface of the striker. The most common configuration is a funnel near or on the nose of the striker and a co-linear one at the back. But they can also be located coming out of the top and bottom of the striker, and on the port and starboard sides. All arrangements place the funnels on one of the three axes of the striker rod apparatus. The funnel surfaces redirect the base matter black hole (and therefore its exotic matter chaser) in order to hit a target.
The collision of the base matter black hole with the target is extremely penetrative, capable of rupturing its striker rod apparatus, which, in turn, blows the whole ship. Even if this part of the attack doesn’t, the exotic matter black hole will catch up to the, now slowed, base matter back hole. The collision produces a brief inflationary phase in the local universe, which will completely lay waste that whole side of the ship in extra-ordinarily bright light, and a cloud of newly-formed protons.
