Description: Encompasses understanding of engines, and drive systems, whether that means propulsion or traction systems, or systems like gradients, which are a combination of the two.
As with all technological engineering disciplines, there is some overlap with, for example:
- Materials, when concerning engines and drivers in power plants, or climate control compressors in habitats; and
- Munitions, when concerning matter and energy feeders, swivel or track systems on field and tactical mounts; and
- Robotics, when concerned with engines and hydraulics in mechs, cranes or large assembly bots.
This skill is best applied to vehicles of any kind, but less so on mechs, which are more the province of the Robotics skill.
