Mogs are provolve feline humanoids, developed over the course of the 22nd and 23rd Centuries, by a number of largely independent, private enterprises that were looking for a marketable high stealth, high agility humanoid, mostly for espionage. The feline form and mindset was adopted as a template for its superior combination of mental and physical attributes that improved the chances of completing dangerous, reckless or ruthless missions.
This genome coalesced from many competing programs that mostly provolved various feline forms, and combining in a few human genetics. These programs continued, until a stable, reliable, and reproducible creature was produced from a few labs. The term mog is a modern and colloquial one. Originally, there were a large number of nomenclatures including Felix, feline-gelf, Aslan, ESHICs and a number of others. Through collapses of some corporations and the merging of others, a more or less standard formula took shape in the early 23rd Century that went under a semi- official designation of feligelf. Many were made under license, mostly from three different stocks: one based primarily on lions and tigers, one based primarily on pumas, panthers and jaguars, and one based primarily on the domestic cat. These are actually different species, meaning that members of one stock can’t reproduce with members of another.
The central characteristics of mogs are their intensity and hyper-focus. Mogs love and fight fiercely. They do nothing by halves, they are all-in, all of the time. In music, they will be entirely carried away by the moment, leaving nothing to caution. In a fight, they will automatically go to the death, using everything to secure a victory. They fight exceptionally hard.
