Infantry

All branches of the infantry get a roll on the Army Rank Table on each term.

Assault

You have spent a few years in a military service or related organisation, where every meal was a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, and every formation a parade.

Assault infantry are usually the bulk of a government or corporate armed force, and are delivered to a location, to wage combat on foot. This usually means the use of powered armour and mech vehicles, but need not be so. See the Infantry (gunnery) entry for a background resembling mechanised infantry.

Commando

You have spent time serving in small, elite units, sometimes referred to as light infantry or special forces. You have been trained to carry out raids behind enemy lines, usually against high-value targets. The actual make up of teams and the nature of the missions depend on the type of employer you have, which is often governments (either military or police), but can be corporations as well. Rebellions provide a more informal setting (less medals and parades), but the fighting is more often than not in a commando style.

The skills of a commando reflect their versatility, self-reliance and ability to improvise.

Gunnery

You have spent a few years as a soldier in a government or corporate mechanised armed force. The style of combat you carried out emphasised field gunnery, reconnaissance, and because the weapons are often vehicle-mounted, vehicle driving and maintenance.

Whether you were more of a fighter or a fixer, would be reflected on whether you take the engineering skills on offer.

* You can choose any of these skills to base this technique.

Marine

You have spent a few years as a space or colonial soldier in a government or corporate armed force. A marine is an infantry soldier that is practiced with breaching and combat in spaceships or habitats. This means that there are a range of survival, technical and situational skills that are not practiced so much amongst other types of soldiers.
