Phase (Psiportation)
Skills: Psiportation
Actions: where M* = M*(this), phase(main-action, 2fp), go out of phase for 1 min, speed M*[2] for 1 min.\
Using an action and 2(fp), you move out of phase with respect to the corporeal realm, for 1 minute, making you effectively invisible and immune to physical attacks. You can move up to your modifier in metres in any direction, move through solid objects, including living creatures. You cannot interact with any objects except by psychic means.
Anything you are wearing and carrying goes into Phase with you, at your option, up to your 1G carrying capacity. While using any item in Phase with you (such as firing a weapon) appears to be effective in your space (and will affect others in Phase with you), they will have no effect on the corporeal (just as you don’t).
If your form is intersecting with a solid object as you are Phasing back, either you or the object, will be bumped aside, depending on what is smaller. This can lead to the scattering of objects and the making of noise. If you are out of Phase and intersecting a solid object, and are beyond your movement to be bumped aside, you will end up on zero focus points at the nearest margin.
Note that you also cannot see the corporeal realm while you are in Phase. This means that if you want to use Phase to move through a wall, you must remember the location of the wall and other objects. It is, of course, possible to use a technique such as Thoughtseeing to allow you to perceive things in the corporeal realm.
The realm that you inhabit, while in Phase, is the closest corporeal realm to yourself. This closest realm becomes your default phasing realm, and you will go back to it each time you Phase. This will be a universe that appears identical to your own. Note that anyone else using Phase from your home realm (someone who shares your corporeal space) will have this as their default realm.
Through the expenditure of more focus points, you can choose nearby realms to move to. The base amount is 1(fp), which is the cost of specifying, and will take you to another realm of dimensional distance 1. The first time you spend an fp for this purpose, you will move to a different nearby realm. Every time you use a specifying fp after that, you can select that realm again. You still will not need to spend a specifying fp to select the default realm.
Realms that are more dimensionally distant require more fp to select them. Jerrimoo Space for example, has a dimensional distance of 15, so requires 15(fp) to specify it, Neander Space a dimensional distance of 22, and Nexus Space is 26.
If you lose consciousness while out of Phase, you remain in the phasing realm, until the Phase duration completes in 1 minute's time. If you are killed while out of Phase, you remain in the phasing realm forever. However, you are allowed an additional psychic save, along with your death save. The psychic save works similarly to the death save, in that if you achieve 11 or better, you may return to your home realm. The psychic save has no other effect on death saves or the status of your mortal coil.
