Disguise (Deceive, Perform)
This technique encompasses a few practices to make you sound and appear like someone else. The use of Disguise-Tools can certainly make you look like someone else (the impersonated), but you would not fool anyone that knows the impersonated. With Disguise you pick up the impersonated person’s mannerisms, and mode of speech, so that you move and sound like them, as well as look like them.
The main application of the skill is through a substitution on Deceive or Perform
substitution(min+) -> chk(C,disguise)= +M
substitution(min+) -> set(SC)= 8 +M
The two options show that you can use this technique by either
- making a disguise check to overcome an observer's psv(Insight), or
- setting a Social Challenge (SC) for all observers.
The observer rolls get advantage, or +5 to their psv(Insight), if they know the impersonated very well, and if the interaction is particularly long and involved. If it’s only either of these things, then they are awarded a +2 bonus instead.
The target’s insight roll gets disadvantage, or -5 to their psv(Insight), if they are only an acquaintance of the impersonated, and if the interaction is very short. If its only either of these things, then they will have a -2 penalty imposed on them.
