Precognition (Clairsentience)

Properties

Skills: Clairsentience
Actions: where M* = M*(this), glimpse(scene, 1fp) see future of person|place|object that you can see and touch, detect-hazards(main-action, 1fp) M*(this), retroaction(round, 1fp) retroaction.

Glimpse future (scene, 1fp)

By spending a scene and 1fp, you can make a Precognition check to see the future of a particular person, place, or object with which you are in contact (including yourself). You must be able to see or touch the subject of your power.

glimpse(scene, 1fp) see future of person|place|object that you can see and touch

The better the roll (the higher the C overcome) the more accurate and detailed the vision. A 5 achieves a vague and possibly inaccurate vision, 10 is usually pretty accurate, but it might only be a glimpse, 15 usually gives a reasonable account and an idea of when it might come to pass, grading up to 30 which will give an accurate timeline, location, people involved and many of the consequences thereafter.

Detect hazards (full-action, 1fp)

Also by spending 1fp, you can use Precognition to find hazards in your path of travel over the next 10 minutes, such as contamination by disease, acid pools, noxious atmosphere, and any traps, that would otherwise not be available to your mundane senses.

Detect hazards action spec

detect-hazards(main-action, 1fp) chk= d20 + M*(Precognition)

If you achieve a 15, you will know that you will be in danger if you venture into a given location, but only get a vague idea of the hazard itself. For example you will feel a burning sensation, but you would not be able to tell if its fire or acid. You may feel a shortness of breath, but you won’t be sure if it’s a vacuum or an asphyxiating atmosphere.

Retroaction (free-action, 1fp)

You can invoke a retroaction, or something you did in your past that was in preparation for what you are doing now. By spending 1fp you can suggest to your GM that you had performed one or more simple tasks at an appropriate point in the past, or brought a piece of equipment with you, in preparation for now. The tasks need to be of a routine nature, and the equipment needs to be otherwise inconsequential.

Depending on the complexity of the preparation or the consequential nature of the equipment, you will have to spend more fp. For example, it becomes 2fp the moment that you need to roll for the success of any of the retroactive actions. The higher the challenge for the rolls, or the longer the string of rollable actions, the more fp required. The number of fp should be reflective of the complexity or risks entailed or the benefits gained.
