Description: Attack opponents who are unaware of you (or are busy right now) with vicious accuracy.
The Vital-Harm technique augments the base skill by affording you the vital-harm overlay on attacks where you have spent an energy point (Cbt-Melee or Cbt-Ranged) or a focus point (Medicine, Robotics or Cbt-Tactical) and the target is unaware of you (or busy with someone or something else).
The overlay allows you to attack with vicious accuracy, hitting your opponent where it hurts. In the context of melee battle, it may be knowing exactly where to stab your opponent for the greatest effect, or hit the right pressure point.
Result Step Range (RSR) Increase
We have already defined RSRs, and the Vital-Harm technique can increase your positive RSR. For every 5 points in your energy- or focus-improved Modifier (M*), you can add 1 to your RSR. Therefore at M*=5, your RSR goes from 1 (needing a 20 for a result step) to 2 (getting a result step on a 19-20).

You can also add your energy- or focus-improved Modifier (M*) for Vital-Harm to the damage from your successful attack.
