This technique covers a range of practices and knowledge concerning survival in a wilderness. When concerning negotiating hazards, this skill can be used in the place for the Survival forte. It’s most direct usage, however, is in being able to hunt or forage for food. This includes the ability to use the resources around you to make crude weapons and build snares, pits and other traps. Rolls on this skill can be used therefore to settle the outcome of short term needs, or determine whether long- term survival is possible.

Persuade (minutes or longer, aspect-on: Persuade) You can make use of this skill as an aspect on Persuade for the purposes of animal handling. This aspect represents your ability to intuit an animal’s feelings and intentions. In the case of domesticated animals, and particularly mounts, it settles questions around calming it, preventing it from being spooked. It can be used as a check to determine whether you can maintain control of a mount as you attempt a risky manoeuvre. roll (persuade)= d20 + B(Persuade) + S(Bushcraft)

mins (Search, aspect-on:Investigate). You can make use of this skill as an aspect on Investigate for the purposes of finding basic, but concealed traps, such as pits, snares, tripwires and similar. You can do this by observing the subtle signs of working, such as disturbed ground, abrasions on stone, snapped twigs, or moved stones. roll (search) = d20 + B(Investigate) + S(Bushcraft)

Search (minutes or longer, aspect-on: Track) You can make use of this skill as an aspect on Track for the purposes of tracking a creature in wilderness or other natural setting roll (search) = d20 + B(Track) + S(Bushcraft)
